Stories Shape Everything
We started Cognexa Path because everyone has stories worth telling. But the craft of screenwriting — the structure, the dialogue, the pacing — that's learned through practice, feedback, and understanding what actually works on screen.
How We Built This
From scattered workshops to comprehensive screenwriting education — here's the path that led us to where we are today.
The Weekend Workshop Experiment
Started with small Saturday workshops in Cardiff community centres. Just eight people around folding tables, working through basic three-act structure. The enthusiasm was immediate — people brought scripts, shared ideas, asked practical questions about character development.
Expanding Beyond Basics
Demand grew for deeper instruction. We developed modules covering genre conventions, dialogue techniques, and industry formatting standards. Partnered with local theatre groups and film societies to provide real-world context for aspiring screenwriters.
Structured Learning Programs
Launched comprehensive courses that take students from initial concept through polished first draft. Added peer review sessions, professional script analysis, and connections to regional production companies seeking new material.
Full Screenwriting Education
Now offering complete learning paths for different experience levels. Students work on real projects, receive detailed feedback, and graduate with portfolios ready for industry consideration. Our next intensive program launches autumn 2025.
What Drives Our Teaching
Good screenwriting education combines technical skill with creative exploration. We focus on practical techniques that help writers tell their stories effectively.
Craft-Focused Learning
We teach structure, pacing, and character development through hands-on practice. Students work with actual script pages, not just theory discussions.
Industry Context
Every lesson connects to real production needs. We explain formatting standards, genre expectations, and how scripts actually get read in the industry.
Collaborative Development
Writing improves through feedback and discussion. Our programs include peer review sessions, group exercises, and collaborative project work that mirrors professional writing environments.
The People Behind The Programs
Our instructors bring practical experience from film production, television writing, and independent project development. They understand both the creative and technical sides of screenwriting.
Oskar Lindberg
Founder & Lead Instructor
Started teaching screenwriting after working as a script reader for independent UK production companies. Noticed the gap between what writers were submitting and what actually worked on screen.
Developed our curriculum based on patterns from successful scripts — what made some work while others struggled. Now focuses on giving new writers the practical tools that took me years to figure out.
Declan Moreira
Dialogue & Character Specialist
Teaches our character development modules. Previously worked in television drama production, where he learned how dialogue needs to serve both character and story momentum. Helps students write conversations that feel natural but drive scenes forward.
